Both On-The-Go and Express enclosures are designed to be bus powered or powered with this AC Power Adapter. Not all computers provide the proper, specified bus-power. Additionally, some 2.5" hard drives and SSDs require more power than a USB or FireWire bus can support. If you need the AC Power Adapter or would like an additional adapter for keeping in multiple locations, this is the correct adapter for all OWC Mercury On-the-Go and Express models.
