Eaton provides five different functions for rack power distribution solutions. Two of these functions, FlexPDU and Maintenances Bypass PDU, were created as accessories specific to some of our UPSs. Both of these units offer the flexibility of connections to meet the demanding requirements of today's data center architects.

The HotSwap Maintenance Bypass (MBP) unit enables easy UPS replacement without interruption of the load. The HotSwap MBP is ideal when exchanging a unit or servicing a UPS. For added convenience, the HotSwap MBP offers two types of receptacles: 5-15R or 5-20R.

The FlexPDU is a basic function power distribution unit with a short power cord for easy, close mounting. FlexPDUs are available with 5-15R, 5-20R or L5-20R output receptacles, for connection to a wide range of equipment.

Both of these options allow for easy deployment, even in space-constrained environments. You have a variety of mounting options, including top and side mounting.

Two trends are emerging for data centre devices. They are growing smaller, yet requiring high-density power. On the other hand, lower-density equipment demands higher power. The new Eaton Enclosure Power Distribution Units - ePDUs - provide the solution for both needs.

Superior power quality depends on efficient power distribution. With today's small-size devices, a single rack of equipment might produce 40 or more power cords to manage. Eaton ePDUs complement your UPS systems, distributing power in high-density rack environments-or anywhere conditioned power must be distributed to multiple pieces of equipment. From a single power input, you can manage and distribute power to multiple outlets, whether you're using a UPS from Eaton or another manufacturer.

Eaton ePDU G3 Managed technology provides a best-in-class design featuring billing grade accuracy monitoring at the outlet level on a local LCD pixel display or over a network connection. The high accuracy meter will measure current, voltage, power and energy for load balancing, capacity planning, efficiency monitoring and energy usage reporting. Outlet switching allows for on, off or reboot of individual outlets, which reduces the cost of managing remote or local IT data center environments. The robust design is UL rated to operate at 140 degrees F (60 degrees C) ambient operating temperature for containment and high temperature environments.

Eaton Managed ePDUs allow you to monitor and control critical factors such as voltage, current and power factor. This level of information allows you to make the right decision when it comes to energy consumption in your data center. Integrated with Eaton's management software, you can control these units from any computer on the network server.
