Scale and convert video from a VGA source for use with a DVI Display

The Gefen EXT-VGA-DVI-SC scales and converts video from a VGA source to a DVI output. Video can be scaled up to 1080p Full HD and 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA). An intuitive and comprehensive on-screen display (OSD) menu allows easy set-up and control. This product can be configured and updated using the Gefen Syner-G™ software suite. The Gefen Syner-G™ is a powerful set of software tools specifically designed to help discover, configure/customize, manage, monitor, and upgrade Gefen products. Wide power supply operating range of 6V to 24V DC offers installation flexibility for mobile use, in complex studio systems with a common power supply, and with remotely located power sources. A locking power supply connector, small footprint, and a surface-mountable enclosure facilitate easy and secure installation.

How It Works

Use the included VGA cable to connect a VGA source to the VGA input. Use a DVI cable to connect a DVI display to the DVI output. Connect the included 12V DC power supply to the unit and to an available electrical outlet. The power LED will glow in blue once the power supply is plugged in. Once the unit is connected, powered on, and displaying video, press the Menu button to bring up the On-Screen Display (OSD). The Up and Dn (down) buttons are used to navigate through the various functions of the OSD.

Scale one HDMI source down or up to 1080p Full HD

The GefenToolBox High Definition 1080p Scaler allows you to scale one HDMI input to one HDMI output with up to 1080p Full HD and Deep Color. This unit can vastly improve the quality of the image by outputting the video to the native resolution of the display, bypassing the display's internal scaler. Video can be manually scaled up and down in all resolutions up to 1080p Full HD.

This product can also be used to downscale, making it ideal for distributing a Hi-Def signal to multiple displays that do not support the same maximum resolutions in an HDMI distribution system, while still showing maximum resolution on the higher-definition displays. It can also be used for DVI signals with appropriate adapters.

The GefenToolBox High Definition 1080p Scaler is conveniently wall-mountable so it can be easily installed behind the display. This Scaler offers RS-232 control and is field-upgradeable.

The GefenToolbox HD Pattern Signal Generator is the most advanced testing device for your audio and video equipment: 39 built-in timings, 41 patterns, and 4 data analysis patterns that provide over a thousand testing combinations for both analog and digital devices. The front panel LCD screen provides easy viewing of functions and features for each timing / pattern. This device can be conveniently controlled via the front panel buttons, the IR remote, or the downloadable software from the Gefen Web site. In addition to its portability, this signal generator is wall-mountable and field-upgradeable.

How It Works

Connect the HDMI or VGA output ports of the GefenToolbox HD Pattern Signal Generator to your HDTV display (DVI displays can be connected using a HDMI-DVI adapter, and Component Video displays by using a VGA-Component Video adapter). Power-on all equipment. The front panel LCD will display all features and options of the active timing and pattern. You can feed digital or analog audio into the generator's rear panel and hear multi-channel digital audio or use the built-in sine wave test tone.

The GefenTV Dual Link DVI to Mini DP Converter works with all Mac and PC computers using dual link DVI graphics supporting resolutions up to 2560x1600. It is designed as an easy, plug and play solution for viewing DVI dual link video using the Mini DisplayPort interface with audio support. The GefenTV Dual Link DVI to Mini DP Converter can also be used with displays using standard DisplayPort connections with a passive Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable. Audio support is provided through the built-in 3.5mm audio connector. The audio output is fed through the Mini DP Out connector on the unit. An EDID switch button is provided for manually selecting the three EDID modes: 2560x1600, 2560x1440, or pass-through. The unit is powered using the included USB cable.
