Delivering up to three times the maximum data rate of today's high-end, enterprise 802.11n access points, the Wi-Fi Alliance™ (WFA) Certified 802.11ac Module provides enterprise networks with more reliability and superior performance by supporting up to three spatial-stream and 80-MHz-wide channels for a maximum data rate of 1.3 Gbps.

• 802.11ac with 3x3 multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology, with three spatial streams, which sustains 1.3Gbps rates over a greater range for more capacity and reliability than competing access points
• With the Dynamic Channel usage 802.11ac can utilize an 80-MHz-wide channel and dynamically contract in real-time based on network characteristics
• The module provides MIMO-equalization-optimized uplink performance and reliability by minimizing the impact of signal fade

The innovative modular design allows any existing Cisco Aironet 3600 Series Access Points to be field-upgraded and immediately expand the available bandwidth for new 802.11ac devices while supporting all your traditional wireless devices on 802.11a/b/g/n.

This flexibility allows companies to grow their network bandwidth dynamically as it is needed, whether for pervasive coverage or spot coverage based on the high-bandwidth demands of their user base-for example, areas of high user congregation such as libraries, cafeterias, auditoriums. Companies have full control for how, where, and when to expand their wireless network.

The Connected Grid Module - Cellular provides 2G, 3G, and 4G wireless backhaul capabilities for the Cisco 1000 Series Connected Grid Routers.

Connected Grid Modules expand WAN connectivity options by providing access to CDMA and EVDO cellular networks as well as GSM, UMTS, evolved HSPA+, and 4G LTE networks available through service providers. Wireless connectivity is a convenient alternative to wired connections and serves as the primary WAN connection for Cisco 1000 Series Connected Grid Routers.

The Cisco® Connected Grid Cellular Modules are 3G and 4G LTE wireless W AN connections for the Cisco 1000 Series Connected Grid Routers (CGR 1000 Series). The ruggedized 3G and 4G LTE cellular modules and CGR 1000 routers together provide a versatile communications platform for a diverse set of field area network (FAN) and Internet of Things (IoT) deployments. They also support and extend utility applications such as Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), Distribution Automation (DA), integration of Distributed Energy Resources (DER), and Remote Workforce Automation to endpoints in the grid.

Utilities looking to deploy standards-based communications to millions of endpoints should consider the Cisco CGR 1000 Series with the WPAN module. The module provides dynamic, automated network discovery and self-healing. And its multi-hop mesh networking delivers a high endpoint-to-collector ratio of up to 5000 endpoints per CGR 1000.

Connected Grid WPAN Modules are tightly integrated with the network services of CGR 1000 routers. For example, the CGR 1000 provides Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) Route Policy Language (RPL)-based routing for high availability and network reliability to endpoints connected to the wireless mesh. RPL is the standard for IPv6 Routing Protocol for Low Power and Lossy Networks.

The WPAN module, along with CGR 1000 software, also provides robust security features for access control, device identity, key management, and encryption. It offers four levels of quality of service (QoS). Together, the WPAN module and CGR 1000 routers provide comprehensive network statistics that help network operators quickly identify and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
