The modular design gives you the ability to add the right quantity, speed, and type of interfaces you need. If your needs change in the future, you can just swap out modules. Choose from copper and fiber modules, including a 10-GbE SFP+ module.

Ensure 100% uptime.
With dual power supplies, the switch is designed for redundancy. Set it up in a ring topology. If a link fails, the switch automatically falls over in less than 30 milliseconds. The switch is also compatible with redundant switches from other manufacturers.

Very manageable.
This switch includes extensive management software enabling you to manage it locally or remotely eliminating costly and time-consuming truck rolls. Software includes: SNMP, QoS, VLAN, IGMP Snooping, SMTP Client, DHCP; MRP, MSTP, and more.

SFP customization.
By plugging in different SFPs, you can customize the switch to the distances and connectors you need. Use the LFP400 Series SFP transceivers with all modules except the LE2731C. Use the SFP+ transceivers (LSP420 Series) with the 10-GbE module (LE2731C).

This capable Layer 2+ switch offers 8 autosensing 10-/100-/1000-Mbps RJ-45 Ethernet ports, plus 2 dual-media ports, each of which consists of one 100-/1000-Mbps RJ-45 port plus a 100-/1000-Mbps SFP port. The dual-media ports can be used either as a normal UTP Ethernet port for copper connections or adapted to fiber through the use of an SFP.

You can also bundle multiple ports to create a single high-bandwidth port using 802.3ad LACP aggregation. The switch supports up to 2 ports per group and up to 5 groups total. Combine Gigabit ports, for instance, to create a multilink trunk for load sharing. It's especially beneficial in switch-to-switch cascading applications where you require higher full-duplex speeds.

The switch supports 1024 multicast groups. Broadcast/multicast/ unicast storm control enables you to restrict excess traffic on your network. Plus it has IGMP (v1/v2/v3) for limiting bandwidth-heavy multicast traffic.

The switch is fully managed, supporting SNMP version 1, 2c, and 3. The embedded RMON software agents support RMON groups 1 (history), 2 (statistics), 3 (alarms), and 9 (events). It also includes a DHCP server to assign IP to DHCP clients.

The integral Web server enables Web-based management via Web browser. This GUI interface enables switch configuration, system dashboard, maintenance, and monitoring. In addition, a Device Management System provides topology and map view graphical monitoring, traffic monitoring, and troubleshooting.

The wide range of management and support features also includes dual image, port mirroring, LLDP, sFlow®, UPnP®, IPv6, SSH, RADIUS, DHCP Client/DHCPv6 Client, SNTP, cable diagnostics, ping, syslog, and Telnet client with SSH security.

Plus, you can also program higher-layer classification and prioritization for reliable Quality of Service (QoS).802.1p Layer 2 QoS enables prioritization of time-sensitive applications, such as VoIP and video.

Highly Secure

You get enterprise-class security features, too. In addition to the switch's VLAN support, it boasts 802.1X port-based network access control for authenticating devices connecting to your network. In addition, the switch supports SNMPv3 cryptographic security, SSH, and SSL for remote management via a connection that encrypts the packet content at each session. Plus, you can set up a guest VLAN that enables visitors to access the Internet without also giving them access to the corporate network. By using its extensive ACLs (up to 256 entries total), you can keep guests or unauthorized users from accessing sensitive portions of your network.

The Gigabit Ethernet Managed Switch features IEEE 802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet, which scales down power consumption during periods of low data activity. This feature adds up to energy savings of up to 50%.

The last two ports (17, 18) give you the option to connect to fiber-based Gigabit Ethernet. Add one of our Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP) Optical Transceivers (sold separately) for short-, medium-, or long-distance fiber optic connections. The transceivers are hot-swappable and available in multimode and single-mode versions.

Keeping it real time.

This switch not only supports Layer 2 802.1p Priority Queue control, but it also provides enhanced QoS support for real-time applications like Voice over IP (VoIP). And it supports Layer 4 TCP/UDP port and ToS classification.

Mirror, mirror on the port.

Port mirroring copies traffic from one specific port to a second target port. This mechanism enables you to track network errors or abnormal packet transmissions without interrupting the flow of data. All ports on the switch are capable of port mirroring.

The traffic report.

You can use VLAN to isolate traffic between different users and thus provide better security. Plus VLAN enables you to confine the broadcast traffic to the same VLAN broadcast domain to boost network performance. IGMP V1/V2 snooping limits bandwidth-intensive multicast traffic to only the requesters.

Life in the fast lane.

The switch enables you to combine ports to create a multilink, load-sharing trunk. Port trunks are useful for switch-to-switch cascading, which provides very fast, full-duplex speeds for high-volume communications. All ports are autosensing for speed and autonegotiating for duplex. The switch's Auto MDI/MDI-X feature means you never need a crossover cable. Furthermore, the switch supports IEEE 802.x flow control for full-duplex mode and collision-based backpressure for half-duplex mode.

This capable switch offers 24 autosensing 10-/100-/1000-Mbps RJ-45 Ethernet ports. It also has two SFP ports which support Gigabit fiber uplinks through the use of SFP+ transceivers.
