Mellanox® MMS1V00-WM transceiver is a single-mode, 4-channel (DR4), QSFP-DD optical transceiver designed for 400 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) links on up to 500m of single mode fiber. MMS1V00-WM converts 8 input channels of 50Gb/s PAM4 electrical data to 4 channels of 100Gb/s PAM4 optical signals, using a nominal wavelength of 1310nm, for 400Gb/s optical transmission. The transceiver has a standard QSFP-DD connector on the electrical side towards the host system. The optical interface is composed of four optical channels/fibers in each direction, intended for a parallel single mode optical cable via a standard MPO connector.

Introduction
NVIDIA® MMS1V70-CM transceiver is a single mode 1-lane (DR1), QSFP28 optical transceiver, designed for use in 100 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) links on up to 500m of single mode fiber.
The transceiver converts 4 input channels of 25Gb/s NRZ electrical data to a single optical channel of 100Gb/s PAM4 optical signals over a single fiber, using a nominal wavelength of 1310nm, and vice versa for the receive path. The MMS1V70-CM main application is to converge between legacy 100GbE NRZ systems and the emerging 400GbE PAM4 systems. Four different MMS1V70-CM transceivers can be connected to a single 400GbE QSFP-DD MMS1V00-WM DR4 transceiver over a single mode splitter cable.
It is compliant with the QSFP28 MSA, IEEE 802.3bm CAUI-4. Digital diagnostic functions are available via the I2C interface, as specified by the QSFP28 MSA.

Long Reaches and Many Configurations
Transceivers are available in one, four, and eight channels in non-return-to-zero (NRZ) and 50G-4-level pulse-amplitude-modulation (PAM4) for 850nm multi-mode and 1310nm single-mode in small form-factor pluggable (SFP), quad small form-factor pluggable (QSFP), and QSFP double density (QFSP-DD) form factors.
100GbE DR1 500m transceiver has 1x 100G-PAM4 LC 1310nm optics and includes an internal gearbox to convert to 4x 25G NRZ electrical output. It's often used with 400G DR4 transceivers with splitter fibers to link new 400G-PAM4 systems to legacy 100G (4x 25G-NRZ)-based systems.
With 100 percent factory testing in end-to-end configurations, all LinkX transceivers offer extremely low BER compared to industry standards and competitors. Connectorized Transceivers for Long-Reach Links
Transceivers are widely used in data centers to connect NVIDIA GPU-based AI systems to top-of-rack (TOR) switches, to leaf-spine and spine-super spine switches in link budgets requiring large optical power or long fiber reaches. The 500m PSM4/DR4, 2km CWDM4/FR4, and 10km LR4 are used to traverse complex networks over long single-mode fiber reaches. The NVIDIA MMS4X00-NM is an InfiniBand and Ethernet 800Gb/s, 2x400Gb/s Twin-port OSFP, DR8 single mode, parallel, 8-channel transceiver using two, 4-channel MPO-12/APC optical connectors at 400Gb/s each. The parallel single mode, datacenter reach 8-channel (DR8) design uses 100G-PAM4 modulation and has a maximum fiber reach of 500-meters using 8 single mode fibers. The 500-meter length assumes two optical patch panels in the link. The Twin-port DR8 transceiver is a key NVIDIA innovation with two internal transceiver engines enabling 64-ports of 400Gb/s in a 32-OSFP cage Quantum-2 switch. Spectrum-4 switches have 32 or 64 cages and enable 64-128 400G ports. The transceiver firmware supports both InfiniBand and Ethernet and is automatically enabled depending on the protocol of the switch attached to. The Quantum-2 and Spectrum-4 switches require finned-top OSFP shells for extra transceiver cooling. The main application for MMS4X00-NM is linking two switches together from 100-to-500- meter link length. 500-meter transceivers have purple marking. A flat top version (-NM-FLT) is offered for DGX-H100 systems. The 500-meter MMS4X00-NM part is similar to the 100-meter MMS4X00-NS, only extensively tested up to 500-meters use cases and may employ a different error correction scheme. The transceiver combinations guarantee optimal operation in NVIDIA end-to-end InfiniBand systems and a rigorous production tested to ensure the best out-of-the-box installation experience, performance, and durability.
