Spectrum-based 32-port 100GbE Open Ethernet Platform

The SN2700 switch provides the most predictable, highest density 100GbE switching platform for the growing demands of today's data centers.

The SN2700 switch is an ONIE (Open Network Install Environment) based platform for allowing a multitude of operating systems to be mounted on it and utilizing the advantages of Open Networking and the capabilities of the Mellanox SpectrumTM ASIC.

The SN2700 has three modes of operation. It can be provided preinstalled with MLNX-OS ® , a home- grown operating system utilizing common networking user experiences and industry standard CLI. It can come preinstalled with Cumulus ® Linux, a revolutionary operating system taking the Linux user experience from servers to switches and providing a rich routing functionality for large scale applications. Finally, it can be provided with a bare ONIE image ready to be installed with the aforementioned or other ONIE-based operating systems.

The SN2700 switch is an ideal spine and top-of-rack (ToR) solution, allowing maximum flexibility, with port speeds spanning from 10Gb/s to 100Gb/s per port and port density that enables full rack connectivity to any server at any speed. The uplink ports allow a variety of blocking ratios that suit any application requirement.

Powered by the Spectrum ASIC and packed with 32 ports running at 100GbE, the SN2700 carries a whopping throughput of 6.4Tb/s with a landmark 9.52Bpps processing capacity in a compact 1RU form factor.

Keeping with the Mellanox tradition of setting performance record switch systems, the SN2700 introduces the world's lowest latency for a 100GbE switching and routing element, and does so while having the lowest power consumption in the market. With the SN2700, the use of 25, 40, 50 and 100GbE in large scale is enabled without changing power infrastructure facilities.

The SN2700 is part of Mellanox's complete end-to-end solution which provides 10GbE through 100GbE interconnectivity within the data center. Other devices in this solution include ConnectX ® -4 based network interface cards, and LinkXTM copper or fiber cabling. This end-to-end solution is topped with Mellanox NEOTM, a management application that relieves some of the major obstacles when deploying a network. NEO enables a fully certified and interoperable design, speeds up time to service and eventually speeds up RoI.

The SN2700 introduces superior hardware capabilities including dynamic flexible shared buffers and predictable wire speed performance with no packet loss for any packet size.

While Spectrum provides the thrust and acceleration that powers the SN2700, the system gets yet another angle of capabilities while running with a powerful x86-based processor, which allows this system to not only be the highest performing switch fabric element, but also gives the ability to incorporate a Linux running server into the same device. This opens up multiple application aspects of utilizing the high CPU processing power and the best switching fabric to create a powerful machine with unique appliance capabilities that can improve numerous network implementation paradigms.

While the SN2700 Ethernet switch series is aimed at the 100/50/25GbE market, Mellanox offers the SN2700B series for the 40/10GbE market. SN2700B switches are priced comfortably for the 40/10GbE market and provide the superior feature set of Spectrum.

SN3700C Series Switches

The SN3700C is a 1U 32-port 100GbE Open Ethernet Network spine that can also be used as a high density 10/25GbE leaf when used with splitter cables. The SN3700C switch allows for maximum flexibility, with ports spanning from 1GbE to 100GbE and port density that enables full rack connectivity to any server at any speed, and a variety of blocking ratios. SN3700C ports are fully splittable to up to 128X 10/25GbE ports.

Instead of forcing network operators to use the specific software that is provided by the switch vendor, Open Ethernet offers the flexibility to use a choice of operating systems on top of Ethernet switches, thereby re-gaining control of the network, and optimizing utilization, efficiency and overall return on investment.

Encouraging an ecosystem of open source, standard network solution, Open Ethernet adopts the same principles as standard open solutions for servers and storage, and applies them to the world of networking infrastructure. SCALING-OUT DATA CENTERS WITH INFINIBAND TO ETHERNET GATEWAY

VIRTUAL PROTOCOL INTERCONNECT® (VPI)

SUSTAINED NETWORK PERFORMANCE

Built with Mellanox's SwitchX®-2-based switches, the InfiniBand to Ethernet gateway software license or system, provides full port flexibility to choose between 56Gb/s InfiniBand to either 10, 40 and 56Gb/s Ethernet with low 400ns latency.

SX6710G, when combined with Mellanox's ConnectX® host adapter family, delivers cost savings by integrating two networks on a single wire. Consolidating multiple networks on a single wire delivers both CAPEX and OPEX savings. OPEX savings are provided by reducing cabling complexity, reducing switch and server infrastructure and delivering a consistent and easy to use management software.

MANAGEMENT

SX6710G MLNX-OS® software delivers complete chassis management, to manage the firmware, power supplies, fans, ports and other interfaces. SX6710G can also be coupled with Mellanox's Unified Fabric Manager (UFM®) software for managing scale-out computing environments. UFM enables data center operators to efficiently provision, monitor and operate the modern data center fabric.

SN4000 PLATFORMS

Mellanox SN4000 series platforms are based on the high-performance Mellanox Spectrum-3 ASIC with a switching capacity of 12.8 Tb/s. SN4000 platforms are available in a range of configurations, each delivering high performance combined with feature-rich layer 2 and layer 3 forwarding, ideally suited for both top-of-rack leaf and fixed configuration spines. The Mellanox SN4000 series provides full wire speed, cut through-mode latency, on-chip fully-shared 64MB packet buffering, and flexible port use in addition to advanced capabilities. Combining a wide range of innovations in the area of programmability, telemetry, and tunneling with industry leading performance, Mellanox SN4000 series is capable of addressing today's data center's complex networking requirements.

SN4600

SN4600 is a 2U 64-port 200GbE spine that can also be used as a high density leaf, fully splittable to up to 128X 10/25/50GbE ports when used with splitter cables. SN4600 allows for maximum flexibility, with ports spanning from 1 to 200GbE and port density that enables full rack connectivity to any server at any speed, and a variety of blocking ratios.
