Up to eight compute nodes can reside in the 7-Rack-Unit (7RU) Cisco UCS X9508 Chassis, offering one of the highest densities of compute, IO, and storage per rack unit in the industry.

Up to four compute nodes or two compute nodes and two GPU nodes can reside in the 7-rack-unit (7RU) Cisco UCS X9508 Server Chassis, offering high performance and efficiency gains for a wide range of mission-critical enterprise applications, memory-intensive applications and bare-metal and virtualized workloads.

The Cisco UCS X440p Gen4 PCIe Node is a new node type that is now supported in the UCS X9508 chassis. This can be attached to UCS X210c and X410c compute node in the UCS X9508 chassis to provide GPU accelerators support using the UCS 9416 X-Fabric modules for UCS X9508 chassis.

The Cisco UCS X440p PCIe Node is the first PCIe resource node to integrate into the Cisco UCS X-Series Modular System. Up to four PCIe Nodes can reside in the 7-Rack-Unit (7RU) Cisco UCS X9508 Chassis and can be paired with one compute node each, offering up to four GPUs to a Cisco UCS X210c and X410c Compute Node with Cisco UCS X-Fabric Technology.

The UCS X-Fabric Technology solution is a combination of two products: the Cisco UCS X9416 X-Fabric Module which provides a PCIe Gen 4 fabric and the Cisco UCS X440p PCIe Node which hosts the GPUs.

The Cisco UCS X9508 Chassis has eight node slots, up to four of which can be X440p PCIe Nodes when paired with a Cisco UCS X210c and X410c Compute Node. This provides up to 16 GPUs per chassis to accelerate your applications. If your application needs even more GPU acceleration, up to two additional GPUs can be added on each compute node using optional GPU front mezz on X210c and X410c compute node

The UCS C240 M6 SFF server extends the capabilities of Cisco's Unified Computing System portfolio in a 2U form factor with the addition of the 3rd Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors (Ice Lake), 16 DIMM slots per CPU for 3200-MHz DDR4 DIMMs with DIMM capacity points up to 256 GB1. The maximum memory capacity for 2 CPUs is listed here:

• 8 TB: 32 x 256 GB DDR4 DIMMs, or
• 12 TB: 16 x 256 GB DDR4 DIMMs and 16 x 512 GB Intel® Optane™ Persistent Memory Modules (PMem).

The UCS C220 M5 SFF server extends the capabilities of Cisco's Unified Computing System portfolio in a 1U form factor with the addition of the Intel® Xeon® Processor Scalable Family, 24 DIMM slots for 2666MHz DIMMs and up to 128GB capacities, two 2 PCI Express (PCIe) 3.0 slots, and up to 10 SAS/SATA hard disk drives (HDDs) or solid state drives (SSDs). The C220 M5 SFF server also includes one dedicated internal slot for a 12G SAS storage controller card.
The C220 M5 server included one dedicated internal modular LAN on motherboard (mLOM) slot for installation of a Cisco Virtual Interface Card (VIC) or third-party network interface card (NIC), without consuming a PCI slot, in addition to 2 x 10Gbase-T Intel x550 embedded (on the motherboard) LOM ports.
The Cisco UCS C220 M5 server can be used standalone, or as part of the Cisco Unified Computing System, which unifies computing, networking, management, virtualization, and storage access into a single integrated architecture enabling end-to-end server visibility, management, and control in both bare metal and virtualized environments.

The UCS C220 M5 SFF server extends the capabilities of Cisco's Unified Computing System portfolio in a 1U form factor with the addition of the Intel® Xeon® Processor Scalable Family, 24 DIMM slots for 2666MHz DIMMs and capacity points up to 128GB, two 2 PCI Express (PCIe) 3.0 slots, and up to 10 SAS/SATA hard disk drives (HDDs) or solid state drives (SSDs). The latest update includes support for 2933 MHz DDR4 memory that is used with the latest 2nd Generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors. With this combination and the new 512GB Intel® OptaneTM DC Persistent Memory (DCPMM - Data Center Persistent Memory Module), up to 9TB of memory is possible (12x256GB DDR4 DIMMs1 and 12x512GB DCPMMs)
