IEEE 802.11ac technology

• With the IEEE 802.11ac wave 2 radio, the AT-AP500 supports up to 2.2Gbps of raw wireless capacity in the 5GHz band.
• Both radios are capable of performing spectrum analysis while simultaneously providing client access (future software release).
• 802.11ac wave 2 MU-MIMO means that the AT-AP500 can simultaneously send traffic to up to four client devices.

Multiple-SSIDs and SSID-to-VLAN mapping

• SSID enables wireless connectivity for client devices that are assigned different security policies. Mapping SSIDs to VLANs creates logical network separation, which differentiates between communication by application, functions or user communities.

Dynamic VLANs

• Dynamic VLANs allow VLANs to be dynamically assigned on a per-user (wireless client) basis. The Dynamic VLAN feature interacts with an external RADIUS server, so that user information is centralized in RADIUS for ease of management. It is not necessary to configure user information on APs.
• The AT-AP500 also supports RADIUS server redundancy, via configuration of a secondary RADIUS server.

PoE - IEEE 802.3at conformance

• The AT-AP500 conforms to the IEEE 802.3at standard. This enables simplified deployment, lower installation costs and centralized power management capabilities for critical network devices.

• The AT-AP500 includes a kit for easy mounting on both walls and ceilings.

The 1000X SFP Converteon Line Card is designed to extend the distance of your Gigabit network by interconnecting LAN devices that are physically separated by large distances. The cards are compatible with a wide range of SFP modules, providing fiber connectivity over both multi mode and single mode fiber, at distances up to 80km, and copper connectivity up to 100m. Compliant with IEEE standards, these converters will inter operate with other standards based media converters, switches, adapter cards etc.

The Allied Telesis ANC10 dual-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet PCI-Express Network Adapters feature SR-IOV offload combined with standard Ethernet functionality. Together, these features provide the necessary performance and bandwidth critical to I/O-intensive applications such as virtualization and High Performance Computing (HPC).

Optimized for virtualization
Using multi-port cards in virtualized environments is critical to the application in order to provide redundancy and data connectivity for the workloads in virtual machines. Due to specific slot limitations, and the need for redundancy/data connectivity, it is usually recommended that virtualized servers use 10 Gigabit ports to satisfy the I/O demands.

Virtual Machine Device Queues (VMware Direct-Path)
VMware Direct-Path (SR-IOV) reduces I/O overhead on the hypervisor in a virtualized server by performing data sorting and uniting it in the network silicon. This feature requires an operating system (OS) that supports VMware Direct-Path (SR-IOV).

Virtual Machine Device Queues (VMDQ) make use of multiple queues in the network controller. As data packets enter the card, they are sorted, and packets travelling to the same destination or virtual machine are grouped together in a single queue. The packets are sent to the hypervisor, which directs them to their respective virtual machines. Removing the strain of packet filtering and sorting from the hypervisor improves overall CPU usage and throughput.

The ANC10 provides improved performance with next-generation technology (VMware Direct-Path, Netqueue, SR-IOV), which includes features such as loop back (inter-VM communication) and priority-weighted bandwidth management. The number of data queues per port is increased to 64, and the interface card also supports multicast and broadcast data on a virtualized server.
