The AK-UC4000 studio camera is yet another Panasonic innovation in broadcast technology. Users can operate the camera in both 4K and HD modes. In HD mode the AK-UC4000 produces HD images with high sensitivity and low noise. In addition to the functions appreciated in previous studio camera series such as DRS and CineGamma, the AK-UC4000 adds new features such as focus assist, flash band compensation, and skew reduction, which is realized through high-speed scan from the MOS sensor. There are additional functions to improve shooting experience including enhanced shock less gain (-6 dB to 36 dB), a user gamma function, black gamma correction according to the pedestal setting, multi-step DNR and easy matrix adjustment. AK-UC4000 Series achieves excellent image quality and operability.

When paired with the AK-UCU600 Camera Control Unit, the UC4000 is capable of 4K image production and uncompressed long-distance transmission. The AK-HRP1000 and HRP1005 Remote Operation Panels are equipped with a color LCD to provide visibility of the display for smooth control. The camera and camera control unit can be connected for approximately 2,000-meter long-distance transmission of video signals when power is supplied from the camera control unit. The remote operation panel and the camera can be connected using a dedicated cable.

The AK-HVF100 230mm LCD color view finder is equipped with a large display and diverse functions. The focus assist functions include Focus Bar (indicates focus level), Focus-in-Red (uses color to indicate areas in focus), Expand (magnifies central portion), and Square (shows focus status of screen as a whole).

Overall, the AK-UC4000 and AW-UCU600 system offers superior cost performance with respect to both operability and ease of use.

The AK-HC3800 is an HD studio camera equipped with three high-sensitivity, high-quality 2/3-type 2.2-megapixel CCDs, a high-precision 16 bit A/D image processing circuit, and the latest generation 38-bit Digital Signal Processor (DSP). Compact and lightweight at only 8 lbs, it offers chromatic aberration compensation (CAC), scene file settings, and a sophisticated implementation of Panasonic's exclusive dynamic range stretch (DRS).

The HC3800 achieves a high sensitivity of F11 at 59.94Hz (2,000 lx) and an S/N ratio of 60dB. High definition formats can be switched to allow worldwide use at 1080/59.94i and 1080/50i. Output of 720/59.94p video will also be supported via a pre-NAB no-charge firmware upgrade. The newly-developed 16-bit A/D and 38-bit DSP utilize Spatial Offset Technology, and an advanced single transfer system to provide a high resolution picture (1,100 lines) with less moiré and a vertical smear level less than -130dB.

The HC3800's DRS function simultaneously reduces blocked detail in shadow areas and blown highlights in scenes where extremely bright and dark objects coexist, and its CAC function can compensate for chromatic aberration at the lens periphery. The low-profile head and low main body design are ergonomically designed for comfortable operation and provide an unobstructed view to the camera operator's right-hand side. The HC3800 is also equipped with a Film Rec Gamma function adapted from Panasonic's renowned VariCam models, and a Scan Reverse function for cinema lens adaptors.

Next Level PTZ Camera Performance

The AW-UE160 PTZ camera supports return input and high-speed shooting, which are indispensable for building a combined system with a system camera and is equipped with a tally lamp on the rear panel and two XLR channels for audio output. It is the first ever remote camera to support the SMPTE ST2110 standard¹ and 5G router (USB tethering compatible), the standard for IP transmission in the broadcasting industry. The flexibility of the remote camera to freely set positions and angles and the specifications comparable to those of a system camera allow for the pursuit of unique and new video expression.

Advanced Connectivity

The AW-UE160 supports HDMI, 3G-SDI, and IP output as well as 12G-SDI output and optical fiber output. Also equipped with two XLR channels for audio input. The output method can be selected to suit the operation, making it easy to add to an existing imaging system or build a system tailored to the site.

In addition, there are no restrictions on the video output method, even when outputting from multiple terminals simultaneously, allowing simultaneous operation in 4K. For example, it is possible to set up a system that operates with three main lines (12G-SDI), one for confirmation (3G-SDI OUT1), and one for monitor display (3G-SDI OUT2).

The AW-UE4WG/KG PTZ Camera supports 4K 30p/29.97p/25p video output.
