Cubro Network Visibility OptoSlim Network Tapping Device - Network Tapping - Optical Fiber - 40 Gigabit Ethernet, 100 Gigabit Ethernet
Cubro's OPTOSLIM MTP/MPO TAP is a passive fibre breakout TAP that makes an identical copy of your network's data, allowing your monitoring tools to see every bit, byte and packet.
It is ideally suited for any high speed Ethernet applications such 40G, 100G and 400G. The OPTOSLIM MTP/MPO TAP is available in singlemode and multimode and covers 40G SR, 40G PSM4, 100G SR4, 100G PSM4; 400G DR4; 400G XDR4 and 400G PLR4 tapping applications.
The TAP is connected inline with the 8-fibre MTP link. The MTP monitor ports feed a copy of the traffic on the link to a set of transceivers on a Cubro 40G/100G/400G Network Packet Broker for further packet processing like aggregation, filtering, load-balacing or deduplication.
The small form of the TAP allows to combine up to three different TAPs in a single RU.
Functions / Benefits
- Completely transparent and passive to see 100% of network traffic including errors and non standard network traffic.
- These TAPs rely on passive full duplex fiber optic splitters, which results in non-point-of- failure operation. It requires no power source to operate.
- The MTP/MPO TAPs are compatible with all major manufacturers' monitoring devices, including protocol analyzers, probes, and intrusion detection systems.

Cubro Network Visibility OptoSlim Network Tapping Device - Network Tapping, Fiber Optic Cable Breakage Monitor/Detector - 24 - Optical Fiber - 10 Gigabit Ethernet
The Cubro OPTOSLIM LC TAP Series offers real-time monitoring access to a physical optical data link with zero performance degradation or disruption. Since an optical TAP is fully passive (no power supply needed) there is no risk associated with placing them inline on an active link. The TAPs do introduce additional optical power loss on the active link which varies with the split ratio used; otherwise, the TAP is completely transparent to the network.
Cubro introduced the new OPTOSLIM form factor for optical TAPs in order to maximize link capacity for a given 1RU space while simultaneously offering a flexible solution for the end user. The OPTOSLIM LC TAP units have a height of 1/3 RU which allows for up to 24 optical link with LC connectors in a 1RU space. This also allows the user to combine varying split ratios, fiber type, and/or connector type as the user requires.
The Cubro OPTOSLIM LC TAPs are available as either 4 or 8 link version in Singlemode (1310/1550) fiber or Multimode (850/1300nm). For Multimode both 50/125µ and 62.5/125µ fiber types are available.
Thus, the OptoSlim LC TAP is perfectly suited for any 1G SR, 1G LR, 10G SR, 10G LR, 40G LR4, 100G LR4, 400G FR4 and 400G LR4 tapping application. For 40G, 100G and 400G multimode use-cases such as 40G SR, 40G PSM4, 100G SR4, 100G PSM4; 400G DR4; 400G XDR4 and 400G PLR4 a pure MTP version is available.
