This BUSlink 4-Bay RAID hard drive supports large capacity and USB 3.2 Gen 1/eSATA interface. It supports Intelligent RAID function: RAID 0, RAID 3, RAID 5, RAID 10, and Large. Removable HDD trays support hot-plug replacement of drives (only for RAID with redundancy mode). HDD intelligent sleep function is supported. The LCM display and buttons support the convenient setting of RAID modes and status display. The optional password allows locking of RAID settings. The cooling fan maintains a safe operating temperature. Skidproof and shockproof rubber feet mat ensure safe operation.

Smart Insert with CipherKey allows you to have total control of your data with two intelligent key insertion modes. Standard design with all CipherShield drives, mode 0 with hotplug mechanism enables you to authenticate and access the drive when the CipherKey is plugged in. When the key is removed, all data within the drive are encrypted. Mode 1 is better utilized for a large data backup job where you don't want to be tied waiting for the data transfer to be completed. The CipherShield drive is authenticated by plugging the key in once and removed. The drive runs without the need to have the key connected at all times. The risk of theft is no longer a concern because when a USB or power cable is unplugged, the drive will automatically lock down its content. A limited number of models available, the rest can be special ordered from Buslink or specify the key mode 1 when ordering from resellers or your preferred IT solution providers.

Now with USB 3.1 Gen 2 interface capable of transferring files at the speed of up to 10 Gbps, it takes advantage of the faster speed of newer generation of SSD drive. You can now transfer file at twice the speed of the previous generation of USB 3.0 (USB 3.1 Gen 1). Faster transfer speed saves you time and money and make it painless to transfer large files. RAID 0 striping with 2x 2.5" gives larger capacity with lighter weight and lower power consumption than our 3.5" base RAID. It is possible to use power from the USB port without using the power adapter. Using metal alloy case, heat is easily dissipated and with less plastic used, more recyclable and eco friendly too.

And without the access key, data will not be seen or accessed in the event of theft or loss of the external drive. Data stored on the hard drive are safeguarded by hardware-based National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) certified industrial strength AES (Advanced Encryption standard) cryptographic engine. The advantage of hardware encryption over software encryption is that you need not be concerned about Trojans/viruses or software upgrades, which results in a decrease of total cost of ownership. You do not need to remember complicated password or PIN. Since CipherShield encrypts data independent of the operating system; removing the drive and connecting it directly to the SATA BUS will not defeat the encryption. Unit is bundled with two keys and registration is required for key duplication.

USB 3.0 Interface
With today's ever increasing demand for bigger data storage space, there is also a need to achieve a faster and higher speed in data delivery. SuperSpeed USB 3.0 is a major step forward to the faster and more efficient data transfer interface. With transfer rate up to 4.8 Gbits/s, USB 3.0 is 10 times faster than the ubiquitous USB 2.0 that has transfer rate of 480Mbits/s.

USB 3.0 SuperSpeed is backward compatible with USB 2.0. Higher speed and better power management makes USB 3.0 ideal for transporting terabytes of information and videos-related files. However, in order to achieve a USB 3.0 speed and take advantage of its features, a USB 3.0 cable is needed to connect to USB 3.0 port with USB 3.0 controller.

CipherShield Technology
BUSlink CipherShield encrypted hard drive prevents unauthorized access to your digital data. Using the latest cryptography algorithm software to protect sensitive file is nothing new.
