SSR1200 Appliance Overview

The Juniper Networks SSR1200 is a 1-U fixed-configuration appliance that is ideal for large branch and small data center or campus deployments. Powered by the Juniper Session Smart Router (SSR) software, the SSR1200 provides secure and resilient WAN connectivity.

Benefits of SSR1200

• Zero Trust Security (ZTS)-The SSR1200 ensures ZTS by authenticating all routes and encrypting all session traffic. Applications, devices, or users cannot initiate any session that does not comply with the authentication policies and access rules. The SSR1200 supports Layer 2 through Layer 5 stateful firewall functions, including DoS/DDoS protection, NAT, encryption, VPN, and traffic filtering.
• Adaptive encryption-The SSR1200 automatically detects traffic encrypted using HTTPS or IPsec and does not re-encrypt such traffic. This capability results in improved performance and reduced overhead due to double encryption.
• Simplified onboarding and monitoring with Juniper Mist WAN Assurance-You can quickly onboard the SSR1200 to the Mist Cloud using the claim code or QR code. This helps in reducing the operational complexity and simplifying the deployment and configuration process.

Overview

The Juniper Networks SSR120 is a software-driven network appliance that is part of the SSR branch portfolio. The SSR120 features four 1 GbE ports, two 1 GbE RJ-45/SFP combo ports, 8 GB of memory, and a 120 GB enterprise-grade solid-state drive (SSD) for storage.

The SSR120 runs the FIPS 140-2 Level 1 compliant Session Smart Router (SSR) software, which provides secure and resilient WAN connectivity.

The SSR120 appliance is available in models with or without LTE support.

Architecture and Key Components

The SRX4100 and SRX4200 hardware and software architecture provides cost-effective security performance in a small 1 U form factor. Purpose-built to protect up to 40 Gbps Internet Mix (IMIX) firewall throughput network environments, the SRX4100 and SRX4200 incorporate multiple security services and networking functions on top of the industry-leading Juniper Networks Junos® operating system. The SRX4100 supports up to 20 Gbps (IMIX) of firewall performance, 7 Gbps of next-generation firewall (application security, intrusion prevention, enhanced URL filtering, and logging), and 5 Gbps of IPsec VPN in data center, enterprise campus, and regional headquarter deployments with IMIX traffic patterns. The SRX4200 supports up to 40 Gbps of firewall performance, 15 Gbps of next-generation firewall, and up to 9.6 Gbps of IPsec VPN in data center, enterprise campus, and regional headquarter deployments with IMIX traffic patterns.
