Connect a remote USB console to the ServSwitch CX Uno using CATx cable.

The CX User Station is part of the CX KVM Matrix technology and allows users to interface with the CX Switch and connected computers up to 980 feet away. The user station directly connects to a VGA monitor and a PS/2 keyboard and mouse where the user would normally sit. The user station can interface directly to a CX Matrix Switch, or can be directly connected to a CX Server Access Module for Point to Point KVM Extension. The extender can support video resolutions up to 1920x1200 when used with CATx cable less than 150 feet, however if used with longer CATx cable the video resolution will be smaller (i.e. 1280x1024 @ 980 feet).

Virtualization

As more physical servers are replaced by virtualization allowing greater availability, better scalability, and therefore a higher return on investment. Emerald simplifies access to both physical and virtual servers with virtual machine support for VMware, Microsoft, and Citrix, using RDP, RemoteFX, and PCoIP. Emerald receivers connect to a virtual machine with additional hardware required and no training for the user.

Fail-safe operation

All Emerald 4K and PE transmitters and receivers feature copper or fiber connectivity through two flexible SFP+ slots.

Your 24/7 operation requires network resilience. Use the redundant network ports on the Emerald units to provide continuous, uninterrupted operation in the event one network experiences loss of service. Connect the endpoints either through two alternative direct links, a direct link, and a network connection, or two independent networks.

Network Requirements

For HD video, Emerald requires a standard Gigabit Ethernet network and possibly a 10 Gigabit aggregate switch, depending on how many endpoints you have. For a 4K pixel-perfect video, you'll need a standard 10 Gigabit Ethernet network with a 100 Gigabit aggregate switch. For both, the network infrastructure required by Emerald can be built with IEEE 802.3 standards-based components from Black Box or other manufacturers.

The award-winning Black Box® Emerald® DESKVUE, a completely new concept in KVM over IP, allows users to create a personalized workspace in which they can simultaneously monitor and interact with up to 16 systems - physical, virtual, and cloud-based - of their choice.

Ideal for control room environments, the Black Box receiver ensures instant, error-free switching between systems with a simple mouse click and enables free positioning of system windows across four 4K screens, including ultrawide curved monitors, while providing unique source information for each connected system.

Because the Emerald DESKVUE receiver does away with constant switching between systems, users no longer need to spend 40% to 50% of their time switching between systems and monitoring when tasks are complete or when a system requires interaction. AV Wall is an additional feature set and means DESKVUE can now be used as a video wall product. A full set of APIs are added for control, along with video wall templates and direct connection to H264/265 sources. This will simplify and reduce equipment required as the video wall system is fully integrated with the KVM system.
