This document details the specifications for the Cisco Connected Mobile Experiences (CMX) 10.0 and newer application running on the virtual and physical versions of the Cisco Mobility Services Engine (MSE). Cisco CMX is a smart Wi-Fi application suite that uses the Cisco wireless infrastructure to locate smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices and deliver relevant services to them. With it, your organization can directly serve personalized content to users.

What's New with CMX 10.2

• Presence Analytics: CMX now supports presence analytics. Because presence does not require x,y coordinates, a CMX presence deployment can be completed in less than 30 minutes.

• Social Media Analytics - Track to social media postings.

• Automatic Report Generation by Industry: Select your industry and CMX automatically generates reports most relevant to that industry.

• Cisco Hyperlocation Solution: CMX now supports location accuracy to under one meter.

• Cisco CMX FastLocate: Improved for greater location refresh rate, FastLocate is also available for access points without the Cisco Wireless Security Module.

• CMX Connect Portals and Templates: Creating a custom, captive portal has never been easier with more available templates, images, and language support. You can create a customer portal within minutes.

The APIC appliance is deployed as a cluster. A minimum of three infrastructure controllers are configured in a cluster to provide control of the scale-out Cisco ACI fabric (Figure 2). The ultimate size of the controller cluster is directly proportionate to the size of the Cisco ACI deployment and is based on the transaction-rate requirements. Any controller in the cluster can service any user for any operation, and a controller can be transparently added to or removed from the cluster.

The Cisco® Application Policy Infrastructure Controller - Enterprise Module (APIC-EM) is our software-defined networking (SDN) controller for enterprise networks (in the campus or branch and the WAN). It delivers an elastic platform for policy-based automation that simplifies and abstracts the network. It can enable transformation of business intent to network control. The platform is built to host multiple, easy-to-use SDN applications that use open, northbound representational state transfer (REST) APIs and drive core network automation solutions. The platform also supports a number of southbound protocols that enable it to communicate with the breadth of network devices customers already have in place, and extend SDN benefits to both greenfield and brownfield environments, immediately from the start. The goal of the APIC-EM platform is to power next-generation SDN applications that will dramatically lower operational expenditures and increase network agility to align with business needs.
