  • HPE AP-587EX Dual Band IEEE 802.11ax 2.97 Gbit/s Wireless Access Point - Outdoor - 2.40 GHz, 5 GHz - 4 x Internal Antenna(s) - Internal - MIMO Technology - 2 x Network (RJ-45) - 5 Gigabit Ethernet, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet - PoE Ports - Bluet

Purpose-built to survive the harshest outdoor and hazardous indoor environments, the Aruba 580EX Series APs withstand exposure to extreme high and low temperatures and persistent moisture, are fully sealed to keep out airborne contaminants, and include industrial surge protection. The Aruba 580EX Series offers flexible power and management options to meet the needs of diverse environments and can be deployed using existing mounts. Like all Aruba APs, the Aruba 580EX Series is Wi-Fi 6 certified and backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

    DESIGNED FOR OUTDOOR FLEXIBILITY

Aruba 580EX Series Outdoor Access Points are weatherproofed and temperature hardened to support hazardous indoor and outdoor environments, including outdoor oil rigs, industrial manufacturing, and transportation sites. With Wi-Fi 6 capabilities, high power Bluetooth and 802.15.4/Zigbee radios, and maximum aggregate throughput of 2.97 Gbps, Aruba 580EX Series APs deliver the speed and reliability needed for demanding Industrial IoT environments.

To support high-performance connectivity in dense mobile and IoT outdoor environments, Aruba 580EX Series APs deliver maximum aggregate on air data rates of 2.97 Gbps and include 5 Gbps Smart Rate Ethernet ports. In addition, dual redundant power/port failover and support for AC ensure high availability with uninterrupted performance.

    WI-FI 6 BENEFITS

The 580EX Series APs are based on the Wi-Fi 6/802.11ax standard, which means that Wi-Fi 6 features such as Uplink and Downlink Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA), BSS coloring, Downlink Multi-User MIMO (MUMIMO), and cellular co-location are fully supported making it more efficient and secure.

    Advantages of OFDMA

This capability allows Aruba's APs to handle multiple 802.11ax capable clients on each channel simultaneously, regardless of device or traffic type. Channel utilization is optimized by handling each transaction via smaller sub-carriers or resource units (RUs), which means that clients are sharing a channel and not competing for airtime and bandwidth.

    Bi-directional Multi-User MIMO (MU-MIMO)

Similar to downlink MU-MIMO in Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac Wave 2), Aruba 580EX Series APs can simultaneously connect clients using downlink - and now - uplink spatial streams. The added benefit is the ability to multiply the number of clients that can now send traffic, thus optimizing client-to-AP spatial stream diversity.

  • Aruba Fiber Media Converter - Network (RJ-45) - 1x PoE (RJ-45) Ports - Gigabit Ethernet - 1000Base-T - 1 x Expansion Slots - SFP - 1 x SFP Slots - Power Adapter - Wall Mountable, Standalone

In the hospitality industry and in multi-dwelling buildings, connecting access points to existing fiber optical cabling represents a challenge, requiring an additional device. To simplify wireless deployments, Aruba offers a Fiber Media Converter that fits snuggly alongside Aruba 300H and 500H Series Hospitality APs. It can transparently convert fiber to copper Ethernet, convert DC power to POE, and extend the reach of the AP.

    WHAT IS A MEDIA CONVERTER?

A media converter is a device equipped with a copper interface on one side and a fiber interface on the other side. From the network point of view, the extended connection is just another Ethernet link, but it has a very long reach so there is no need to add new switches or power extensions to extend the network scope.

    SIMPLIFIED DEPLOYMENTS

The Aruba Fiber Media Converters simplifies deployments in several ways. Older buildings may not be able to support the conduit for Ethernet cables and the Aruba Fiber Media Converter can be used in this scenario to convert existing fiber-optic cable to Ethernet. In spaces with noisy electromagnetic fields or radio frequencies such as factory environments, the media converter can be used alongside existing fiber-optic cables to provide interference-free connections. Lastly, the Aruba Fiber Media Converter extends the reach of Ethernet cabling, which is limited to 100m, to minimize the need for new cabling.

    THE ARUBA ADVANTAGE

The Aruba Fiber Media Converter supports a wide range of fiber small form-factor pluggable (SFP) modules and connects to the AP over standard copper Gigabit Ethernet. POE power is provided to the AP over the same interface. To power the converter and attached AP, the unit can use direct DC power or POE.
