ACX5000 Line Product Family

Juniper Networks ACX Series Universal Metro Routers offer a wide range of metro solutions, including the ACX500, ACX1000, ACX2000, ACX4000, ACX5000, and ACX6000 lines. The ACX5000 line includes five models.

ACX5048: The ACX5048 provides full duplex throughput of 1.44 Tbps in a 1 U platform. Built to handle 1GbE/10GbE capacity and density, it supports 48 1GbE/10GbE and six 40GbE interfaces, making it ideal for Metro Ethernet access and aggregation deployments with full support of E-Line, E-LAN, E-Tree, and E-Access, as well as IP/IP VPN services.

ACX5096: The ACX5096 provides full duplex throughput of 2.56 Tbps in a 2 U platform. It supports 48 x 1GbE, 96 x 10GbE, and 8 x 40GbE interfaces, making it ideal for metro aggregation deployments with full support of E-Line, E-LAN, E-Tree, and E-Access, as well as IP/IP VPN services.

ACX5448: The ACX5448 offers 48 1GbE/10GbE aggregation ports, four high-capacity 40GbE/100GbE uplink ports, and full Metro Ethernet and IP/ MPLS VPN services in a space- and cost-optimized platform, smoothing the transition from 10GbE to 100GbE for service providers preparing for the emerging 5G rollout.

ACX5448-D: The ACX5448-D supports 36 1GbE/10GbE, two 100GbE, and two 100G/200G dense wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM) ports using CFP2-DCO. It is designed for packet-optical convergence to reduce TCO and to help service providers prepare for the emerging 5G rollout.

ACX5448-M: The ACX5448-M supports 44 1GbE/10GbE and six 100GbE ports, as well as advanced security capabilities such as Media Access Control Security (MACsec) on all 1GbE/10GbE ports.

The ACX5400 line of Universal Metro Routers is ideal for Ethernet service aggregation and packet-optical convergence. Offering GbE, 10GbE, 25GbE, and 100GbE connectivity options in a 1 U footprint, the ACX5400 line gives you the flexibility to create high-density networks with the interfaces you need to support your unique traffic demands.

Choose between Ethernet aggregation, Ethernet aggregation with MACsec encryption, and Ethernet aggregation plus packet-optical convergence. This configuration flexibility allows you to build a 100GbE infrastructure even in environments where rack space for networking devices and cooling systems is limited.

Aggregate Multiple Services with High Availability

Built with metro service aggregation in mind, the ACX5400 line features 100GbE interfaces for network-to-network interface (NNI) uplinks. It fully supports E-Line, E-LAN, E-Tree, and E-Access, as well as IP-over-IP VPN services. The router supports your business with high-availability networking features such as unified in-service software upgrades (ISSU) and the Junos operating system for consistent delivery of mission-critical voice and video traffic.

The ACX5400 line also offers service virtualization on a dedicated, customizable, kernel-based virtual machine (KVM). The KVM executes operational scripts and programs for network performance monitoring and analysis.

High-Density Networking in Space-Challenged Environments

With the ACX5400 line, you can build high-density telco infrastructures that are both efficient and scalable. For sites with rack space limitations, these 1 U platforms support up to 48 GbE or 10GbE ports, up to 16 25GbE ports (via QSFP28 breakout), and up to six 100GbE ports. The packet-optical convergence version provides two 100/200G CFP2 DCO line-side ports for easy and highly flexible multilayer deployments.

The ACX5400 line satisfies the growing demand for access network capacity, fueled by a new generation of Gigabit-capable Passive Optical Networks (GPON), 4G/5G wireless base stations, and 10GbE user-to-network interface (UNI) service demands from business and residential customers.

The router's 100-Gbps NNI ports deliver ample capacity for aggregation uplinks. Combine them with software capabilities designed for business, direct Internet, direct public cloud, residential fiber, and mobile backhaul and access networks for an optimal metro access and aggregation solution.
