EOS R5 FEATURES

Advanced Full-Frame CMOS Sensor

Canon has developed an entirely new CMOS image sensor for the EOS R5. Image quality is at the heart of the EOS R System and the EOS R5 is set to raise the bar in high level still and video capture empowered by this new CMOS sensor and the new DIGIC processor.

High-Speed Shooting up to 20 fps

The EOS R5 can capture fast moving subjects in high speed burst. At up to 12fps with mechanical shutter and up to 20fps with silent shutter, the EOS R5 can capture the split-second details between a subject's movement.

Astonishing Autofocus and Subject Detection

The EOS R5 brings subject detection to a new level - Utilizing Canon's Dual Pixel CMOS AF Technology, the EOS R5 will be capable of making Ultra-High-Speed Autofocus calculations to match its immensely powerful High-Speed Shooting capability of 20 fps. Subject detection adopted from the Live View AF tracking system in the EOS-1D X Mark III brings Face, Head and even Eye tracking when People detection is set, providing ease and accuracy when capturing stills or video. Detection of Animals will also be possible for the first time in a Canon camera, effectively tracking the whole body, face, or eye of cats, dogs, or birds for speed and precision.

Larger Than Life 8K Video

Canon revolutionized the video industry with the introduction of the EOS 5D Mark II which provided solutions for what was previously seen as improbable - the EOS R5 will again push the boundaries of what filmmakers can do compared to current DSLR and Mirrorless cameras. With Internal, uncropped 8K video shooting at up to 29.97fps, and 4K video shooting at up to 119.9fps, in 4:2:2 10-bit (H.265) Canon Log, and Dual Pixel CMOS AF available in all 8K and 4K modes, image makers worldwide will be able to tell their stories in larger-than-life resolutions. Additional new features include: Internally recorded and uncropped 8K RAW Recording up to 29.97 fps with Dual Pixel CMOS AF, and HDR-PQ Recording (H.265) capability.

Canon's all-new 45 Megapixel full-frame sensor is at the heart of the EOS R5's superb image quality, which also leads the way for impressive 8K DCI cinematic movie capture with theability to extract 35.4 Megapixel still images. Focus and speed are paramount in the EOS R5, providing impressive continuous capture at speeds of up to 20 frames-per-second and with Dual Pixel CMOS AF II capability, to track split second movements of eventhe most elusive of subjects. With 1,053 Automatic AF zones, it is easier than ever to photograph people with the use of Eye, Face and Head Detection AF, or intuitively track the whole body, face or eye of cats, dogs, or birds with Animal Detection AF. The 5-axis in-body image stabilization can effectively compensate for camera shake with approximately 8 stops of stabilization with use of certain non-stabilized, and optically image stabilized lenses. Connectivity like 5GHz and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi^® and Bluetooth^®, is also included.

EOS R3 Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera

Building on the success of the EOS R series of cameras and leveraging advancements in technology that have come along since, the EOS R3 combines some of the best of both the EOS R5 and EOS-1D X Mark III cameras to provide a robust, high-performance camera. The EOS R3 camera features a powerful DIGIC X Image Processor, enabling high-performance operation and coordination of processes such as Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, Image Stabilization, image processing, and video functionality. Featuring an ISO range of 100-102400 (expandable to 204800), the EOS R3 camera delivers a large range of standard and expanded ISOs (for still images), and a flexible set of auto options to help enhance shooting in varied and fast-changing lighting situations.

High Image Quality with a Back-illuminated Stacked 24.1 Megapixel Full-frame CMOS Sensor

The EOS R3 delivers substantially faster read-out speeds and produces much lower "rolling shutter" distortion than previous EOS models. The new sensor architecture also increases light capturing efficiency which leads to cleaner low light photos while possessing the ability to capture them as true 14-bit RAW files in electronic shutter mode.
