Relay racks are also commonly called Telco racks or 2 Post racks. Relay racks are primarily used to install communication and network equipment. Computing equipment can be installed in Telco racks with the use of specialized rail kits. These rail kits allow the equipment to be installed in either a center mount or a flush mount configuration. The standard rail kits can be used to install computing equipment in a 2 Post rack with the addition of a relay rack conversion kit. Telco racks are manufactured using two different methods. The highest quality 2 Post racks are extruded. This means that the aluminum is formed and not bent. The second method used to manufacture relay racks is to bend flat sheets of aluminum or steel. These Telco racks are of a lesser quality than the extruded 2 Post racks. All of the relay racks sold by RackSolutions are made from extruded aluminum and are the highest quality available.

These open frame relay racks are of lesser quality than the extruded 2 post relay racks. All of our 45U and 24U server racks are made from extruded aluminum and are the highest quality available. All of our open frame relay racks are knock down(flat-packed) and ship ready-to-assemble, making it easier to handle and store until needed.

Our Desktop Open Frame 2 Post rack is an efficient way to rack mount shallow equipment while taking up little space. Available in 8U and 12U, mount shallow EIA 19" equipment, such as switches, patch panels, small office equipment, and audio/visual equipment. The desktop server rack open frame allows beneficial ventilation and easy access to mounted hardware for maintenance. The two uprights on the desktop rack include universal square holes for universal mountings. The desktop open frame rack is constructed of 14 gauge steel with a weight capacity of 150lbs. Our free standing desk top rack is made in the USA and has rubber feet under each upright to restrict movement of your network rack. Included assembly hardware is 20 screws and 20 cage nuts, 12-24 threads and is flat-packed with the rack, saving in shipping costs.
