Reverse Equalizers

Reverse equalizers produce a tilted frequency response opposite of that produced by coaxial cables. They are normally used during station balancing to counteract the tilt produced by coaxial cables, in order to achieve desired tilt. An equalizer's "dB value" indicates the amount of tilt (in dB at rated high frequency) the equalizer is designed to offset. The dB value and rated high frequency (40, 42, 55, 65 or 204MHz) are printed on the top of each equalizer. The amount of tilt (in dB) that the equalizer produces from low to high frequency is printed on the side of each equalizer.

Prisma II Post-Amplifier Modules
Prisma II Post-Amplifier modules use cladding pumped Er/Yb co-doped fiber technology to achieve the high output power levels that regular EDFA cannot reach. This product is designed for high operation efficiency and excellent noise performance. The post-amplifier module is directly fed by a pre-amplifier module and outputs the high optical power level required to feed the passive optical network (PON).

Prisma II Post-Amplifier modules are available in 1-wide and 2-wide modules. The 1-wide post- amplifier module is temperature hardened for use in applications having less temperature control than a headend or CO environment. The 2-wide post-amplifier module is normally used in a temperature controlled headend or CO environment.

The Scientific Atlanta Optical Module Mounting Bracket provides a simple and economical solution for mounting LGX-style modules in a standard 19 inch rack. The high-density bracket is available in 3 different sizes of flush mount and recessed versions. The 4 RU (rack unit) bracket will accommodate 14 single-wide modules, 7 doublewide modules, or any combination of modules that does not exceed the allocated 14 module-width spaces. The 2 RU bracket will accommodate 6 single-wide, or 3 double-wide modules, while the 1 RU bracket will accommodate 3 single-wide modules. The bracket includes a fiber routing guide for managing fiber entry and exit.
