Allied Telesis MCF3300 1RU, Modular, Media Conversion Chassis - 2 x Number of Power Supplies Supported - 3 Slot Management Port - 1U - Rack-mountable - Gray - TAA Compliant
The Allied Telesis MCF3300 is a 1RU three-blade chassis able to support up to 24 media conversions, dependent on connector type. The MCF3300 is powered by hot-swappable AC or DC power supplies, which allows for flexibility amongst connection types and speeds. At 1RU high, it is the industry's smallest form factor model for up to 24 media conversions.
Overview
The Allied Telesis MCF3300 has different blade options enabling customers to mix environments.
MCF3000/8SP
8 x 100/1000Mb SFP to 10/100/1000T
MCF3000/8LC
8 x 1000SX/LC to 10/100/1000T
MCF3010T/4SP
4 x SFP+ to 10/100/1G/2.5G/5G/10GT
The MCF3000/8SP accepts 100Mb or 1G SFPs allowing backwards compatibility for older networks. With 10G blades, capable of accepting 1G or 10G SFPs coming shortly after release, the MCF3300 will be able to handle the most robust conversion needs.
Managed Media Conversion
The management function allows network administrators to monitor Media Converter status and configure the MCF3300 remotely via Web Browser, Telnet, SSH or Console Port. This product is ideal for telecommunications and corporate applications, where a number of fiber links need to be managed and controlled from a central location.
Security Features
Robust security features allow you to control user access to the chassis, to ensure that only authorized personnel can view and change the settings of the slide-in modules.
- Access Control Lists (ACLs) can be configured to allow access to authorized users and deny access to all others.
- Management VLAN: the chassis uses system-assigned VLANs on the blades. No blade traffic is routed to the management card. This keeps management traffic separate from data traffic. DHCP is supported to obtain an IP address on the management card.
- Secure Shell (SSH) authentication supports both Rivest-ShamirAdleman (RSA) and Digital Signature Algorithm (DSA) for public key cryptography, for both connection and authentication.
SNMPv3
SNMPv3 is derived from and builds upon SNMPv1 & SNMPv2c. This technology provides commercial-grade security and ease of administration, which includes authentication, authorization, access control, and privacy. The secure management of SNMPv3 provides security with authentication and privacy. Its administration offers logical contexts, view-based access control, and remote configuration.
SNMPv3 supports authentication and encryption. SNMPv3 uses UserBased Security Model (USM) for authentication and message security, and View-Based Access Control Model (VACM) for access control rules.

Multi-Tenant Units (MTUs) such as offices and campuses, and Multiple Dwelling Units (MDUs) such as hotels and apartments are the ideal environments for MMC600x network extenders. Legacy wiring, such as Coax or phone grade RJ-11, can be used to provide broadband access to Internet services, including video streaming, gaming and e-mail.
Extended Ethernet Operation
Used in pairs, Allied Telesis MMC6000 Series media converters provide up to 150Mbps (MMC6005) or 300Mbps (MMC6006) total bandwidth over legacy wiring at distances up to 3km.
Standard Ethernet operation is preserved end-to-end, retaining VLAN tags and Ethernet MAC information across the link, while higher layer protocols are passed transparently
MTU and MDU Applications
Multi-Tenant Units (MTUs) such as offices and campuses, and Multiple Dwelling Units (MDUs) such as hotels and apartments are ideal for MMC6000 Series network extenders. Legacy wiring, such as Coax or phone grade RJ-11, can be used to provide broadband access to Internet services, including video streaming, gaming and e-mail.
There is no need to rewire premises with expensive cabling to provide broadband Ethernet services.
Standalone and Rack-Mount
The Allied Telesis MMC6000 Series is available as a compact, standalone unit for installation at the central office, or can be rack-mounted in a standard Allied Telesis MMCR18 chassis. The MMCR18 is capable of housing up to eighteen units in one compact chassis, and features a redundant power supply to simplify wiring and minimize space requirements.
Plug and Play Operation
Simply connect to the RJ-45 Ethernet port and the unit will automatically auto-sense and configure for 10/100/1000T, as well as full- or halfduplex Ethernet operation.$207.88 -
Allied Telesis MMCR18 Media Conversion Rack-Mount Chassis - 18 Slot - 2U - Rack-mountable - TAA Compliant
Media converter flexibility
Learn More
The Allied Telesis MMCR18 is a two rack unit high chassis, which enables network managers to use up to 18 MMC series media converters in a standard 19 inch rack. For redundancy, it can be powered with either one or two Power Supply Units (PSUs).
Power options
The MMCR18 Chassis can be powered with either an AC or DC power supply, eliminating the need for multiple power connections. Allied Telesis also offers an optional hot swappable PSU to eliminate network downtime. The unit saves space in the wiring closet, and minimizes the number of power connections required. Single-unit media converters can be removed from the MMCR18 and deployed individually to accommodate network modifications.
By incorporating a backplane with 18 different power entry modules integrated with the printed circuit board, power is equally distributed among all media converters-whether using one or two PSUs.
Rack-mount design
Designed with a simple mounting system, each individual media converter is plugged into the back plane and secured with the included mounting rail.
The rack-mount chassis includes six status LEDs on the front panel indicating power, temperature, fan and fault status.$837.71 -
