The ComNet™ FDC10 Series bi-directional contact closure transceiver provides bi-directional transmission of contact closure over one multimode or single mode optical fiber. The transceiver has a contact input and a 0.5 amp contact output. The bi-directional contact closure module has two relay outputs and one relay input. One relay output follows the "relay input" at the remote end. When the remote "relay input" is shorted, the local relay output is closed and vice-versa. The second relay output is closed when "carrier" is detected from the remote end, this indicates that the optical fiber is connected and that the remote end has power and is operating.

The ComNet™ FDC8ISOT 8-Channel Contact Closure Transmitter unit provides up to eight independent normally-open (NO) dry contact closures over one multimode or single-mode optical fiber, when used in conjunction with the companion ComNet model FDC8NLR Non-Latching Receiver or FDC8R Latching Receiver units. Each of the contact closure inputs are optically isolated at 1500V to ground, for those applications where high stray or transient voltages may exist. Microprocessor-based logic in the FDC8ISOT Transmitter detects a customer-furnished switch or contact closure, and encodes the closure into robust data packets that are mapped and transmitted to the FDC8NLR Receiver. Packets received with excessive bit errors will not result in random changes in the receiver relay contact resting or actuated states, making this system ideal for mission critical remote switching applications. Plug-and-play design ensures ease of installation and operation, and no optical or electrical adjustments are ever required.

The ComNet TM FDX2HSD(M,S)(1,2)(EA,EB)/M data transceivers provide point-to- point or drop-and-repeat transmission of two independent simplex or duplex high-speed RS485 (2W) data signals over one optical fiber. The transceivers are transparent to data encoding allowing for broad-range compatibility. Models within this series are available for use with multimode or single mode optical fiber and feature built-in DIP switch-selectable bias and termination resistors for each data channel. Plug-and-play design ensures ease of installation requiring no electrical or optical adjustments. Each transceiver incorporates bi-color (Red/Green) indicating LEDs for monitoring proper system operation, including the location of fiber breaks. The FDX2HSD/M units are medium size surface mount modules, and they may be DIN-rail mounted by the addition of ComNet DIN rail adaptor plate (model DINBKT1, sold separately).

The ComNet™ FDX4D(M)(S)1 Series data transceiver series provide transmission of four bi-directional data channels over one optical fiber and are ideal for use in unconditioned roadside or out-of-plant installations. The data channels can be set independently for RS232, RS422 and 2 or 4-wire RS485 with tri-state support. Plug-and-play design ensures ease of installation and no electrical or optical adjustments are ever required. Bi-color (Red/Green) LED indicators are provided for rapidly ascertaining equipment operating status. Packaged in the exclusive ComNet ComFit housing, these units may be either wall or rack-mounted, or may be DIN-rail mounted by the addition of ComNet model DINBKT1 adaptor plate.
