The ComNet CNMCSFP electrical-to-optical Ethernet media converters accept a 10/100 or 1000 Mbps electrical input and converts this to a 100 or 1000 Mbps optical output (selected by a dip switch) and the 100/1000 Mbps optical input back to the 10/100/1000 Mbps electrical output. "Auto-Negotiating" is supported on the copper interface side. These devices use either one or two optical fibers, depending upon the selection of sold-separately SFP optical module. A PoE model, the CNMCSFPPOE/M meets the IEE802.3at standard and provides 30 watts of PoE+ power. The series consists of a small-size single channel model, CNMCSFP/M; a ComFit standard size, single-channel model, CNMCSFP; a dual channel model, CNMC2SFP; and a quad channel model, the CNMC4SFP.

The ComNet™ COMPAK1EOC contains two CNFE1EOC-M modems that support Ethernet over twisted pair or coaxial cable, at data rates of up to 90 Mbps. Ethernet data may be transmitted over a telephone-grade twisted copper pair, legacy serial cabling, or standard 75 ohm coaxial cable circuits, making this unit ideal for those applications where it is desired to utilize an existing installed base of copper wiring for Ethernet transmission. These modems are the perfect solution for upgrading a legacy twisted copper or coaxial cable plant for use with Ethernet, when compared to the significant costs of installing new network cabling. The fastest usable data rate is automatically selected, depending upon the transmission distance and cable quality. LED status indicators are provided for rapidly ascertaining the operating status of the modem and the link.

The ComNet™ CWFE100(X)POE/M Series 2-port media converters provide fullduplex fiber optic transmission of a single channel of 10/100 Mbps Ethernet data (10/100 BASE-TX) through multimode or single mode optical fiber. Type ST, SC or SFP optical connectors are available. They provide full compliance with IEEE 802.3at as Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE), with a maximum power of 30 watts in Mode A or Mode B, making them ideal for those applications where the remote equipment draws significant power. A higher output 60 watt model is available. Mode A and mode B are selected by the media converter automatically. The Ethernet electrical interface auto-negotiates to either 10 or 100 Mbps without the need for any user selection, and the optical interface operates at 100 Mbps (100-FX). A power supply providing 48 VDC at 1.25A is provided with each converter. Plug-and-play design ensures ease of operation, and no optical adjustments are ever required.
