In addition, provides the ability to connect up to three USB devices to a single port on any capable computer via included USB 3.0 or USB C cable for greatest compatibility with many host systems.

Compatibility

Uses Realtek RTL8153 and VIA VL817 chipsets for fast network speeds and maximum compatibility with almost all USB 3.0 hosts. Supports Microsoft Windows 11, 10 (RT not supported) through 7, macOS 10.6 and later, Chrome OS, and Linux kernels 3.9+. Full compatibility with USB C, 3.0, 2.0, and 1.1 hosts and devices. Not compatible with Android, Tivo, Nintendo Switch, or other non-PC/Mac platforms.

Supports 4K Jumbo Frames, IPv4/IPv6 checksum offload engine, crossover detection and auto-correction, TCP large send offload and IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet. Not recommended for use with older Texas Instruments, Fresco Logic, Etron, or Wistron USB 3.0 host controllers. Ethernet may require additional installation.

No Charging Capabilities

The Plugable hub is for data only and does not support charging of the connected devices. Functions as a USB hub only and will not charge phones, tablets, iPads, iPhones, or other tablet and smartphone devices with or without a PC connected. Not BC 1.1 / 1.2 compatible.

Does It Need Power?

This bus-powered hub shares available power (500mA) from the single upstream USB port to each of the two downstream USB ports. Because power is shared, devices connected via the hub should be low powered (keyboards, mice, etc), or self-powered (printers, powered hubs, externally powered hard drives).

Devices That Are Not Compatible With This 2-Port Hub

The Plugable 2-Port hub cannot be used with built-in car stereo systems or aftermarket systems such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as these systems do not support USB hubs.
